Crystal River 2009
We are headed back down to Crystal River Florida this time after Christmas.  This is a great trip for the whole family to go on.  There is plenty to do for the diver and non-diver alike.
We will drive to Florida on the 26th of December and start diving on the 27th.  The first day will be spent on Crystal River where I have several pontoon boats waiting on us.  This is the part of the trip where we will see the beloved manatee.  These are beautiful creatures that will love to have your affection just like the dogs at home.  We will the head over to either Rainbow River to do a little drift diving.  You can snorkel this river as well.  We will be taken up river and dropped off to drift back to the exit point.  There are tons of things to see in this river, bass, bream, springs, and water turkeys.  After the two days on the rivers we will start driving home.  We will stop at several different places along the way to dive and snorkel.
We will stop at Devil’s Den to make a couple of dives.  This place is full of fossils embedded in the walls.  There are many swim throughs in the upside sown mushroom shaped sink for you to explore.
We will also stop off and dive at the Blue grotto.  This is also a sink the stretches down to over 100’ in depth.
We will then stop by Genie springs.  There are three areas here to dive and explore.  All of which are connected by a river, so you can snorkel from one to the other.  There is also swim and snorkel platforms for you to use if you do not wish to dive.
The last stop will be at Troy Springs.  This is a place that I dove as a kid in the mid 80’s that was just unbelievable.  It was off to itself in the middle of a cow pasture that was connected to a river.  The water here is just breathtakingly clear.  There is some current here so you need to be aware of that.  There is also an old paddle wheeler skeleton at the mouth of the river.  It was scuttled here on purpose to protect the spring’s water resources in the civil war.
This is a great inexpensive get-away during the winter to help keep your gills wet.  This trip will be $525 per person and will include all of the lodging, diving, air fills, entry fees, and passage on the pontoons.  You will be responsible for meals and transportation.  Most of the hotels that we are staying at will have a continental breakfast included.  I will also have a cooler for lunch stuffs while we are diving.
So call the store and reserve your spot today.
 *club price $485 per person*
